## Getting started on the free plan

Metorial is self-serve. Nothing here needs a sales call or a card.

- Metorial Dev is free, at $0/month: 500K tool calls per month, unlimited auth connections, up to 2 team members, and up to 10 provider integrations. Per-plan limits are in [Core limits by plan](#core-limits-by-plan) below.
- Sign up at [platform.metorial.com](https://platform.metorial.com/) and issue, rotate, or revoke API keys yourself in the dashboard. The [API getting started guide](https://metorial.com/docs/build/api) covers the first authenticated request, and [the API reference](https://metorial.com/api#authentication) documents the key formats.
- Every API key belongs to one [environment](https://metorial.com/docs/build/operate/organizations-and-projects), and a development key never reaches production, so you can call a real tool against test data first. Dev includes a single environment.
- The dashboard's MCP Explorer calls tools interactively, so you can try one before writing any code.

## Overage (Metorial Scale)

When you exceed included volumes on **Metorial Scale**, additional usage is billed as follows:
