How to Get Your OpenAI API Key

To use OpenAI's models with Metorial, you'll need an OpenAI API key.

Getting Your OpenAI API Key

  1. Create an OpenAI account at platform.openai.com

  2. Navigate to API keys section:

    • Click on your profile icon in the top-right
    • Select "View API keys" or go to the API keys page

  3. Create a new secret key:

    • Click "Create new secret key"
    • Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Metorial Integration")
    • Copy the key immediately - you won't see it again

  4. Add billing information if you haven't already:

    • Go to Settings > Billing
    • Add a payment method to start using the API

Using Your OpenAI API Key

Store it securely in your environment:
