How to Get Your XAI API Key

To use XAI's Grok models with Metorial, you'll need an XAI API key.

Steps to Get Your XAI API Key

  1. Visit the XAI platform at x.ai or console.x.ai

  2. Create an account or log in if you already have one

  3. Access the API section - navigate to the API keys or developer console

  4. Generate an API key by clicking the appropriate button

  5. Copy and save your key securely - you may not be able to view it again

Using Your XAI API Key

Configure the OpenAI client with your XAI credentials:

Note the baseURL parameter - this is required to point the OpenAI SDK to XAI's API endpoint.
