- Ask Codex to use the manage branch restrictions tool in Bitbucket
- Ask Codex to use the manage default reviewers tool in Bitbucket
- Ask Codex to use the manage webhooks tool in Bitbucket

Add the Bitbucket MCP server to Codex
Run these once. Afterwards, everyone you give access to signs in the same way.
1. Enable Bitbucket in Metorial
In your Metorial portal, enable the Bitbucket MCP server and sign in with the account that owns the data. Access stays governed by your team policies.
2. Add the server and sign in
The Codex CLI, IDE extension and ChatGPT desktop app share this config.
codex mcp add metorial --url <your-magic-mcp-url>codex mcp login metorial3. Check the connection
Type /mcp in Codex to see Metorial and its Bitbucket tools.
Give your team Bitbucket in Codex
Once Bitbucket is enabled in Metorial, teammates sign in with SSO and get the same connection in Codex, with only the tools their role allows.
One link covers every app you approve. See how the MCP gateway handles access, roles and audit logs for the whole company.
