Supported Tools

render_document

Render Document

Generate a document by merging a Carbone template with JSON data. Synchronous renders include a downloadable document and retain the render ID. For asynchronous renders, use download_document after the completion webhook. Supports output format conversion, locale/timezone settings, dynamic filenames, currency conversion, and batch generation.

upload_template

Upload Template

Upload a document template to Carbone for later use in document generation. The template must be provided as a **base64-encoded** string of a supported file type (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, ODT, ODS, ODG, ODP, XHTML, IDML, HTML, XML). Optionally enable versioning, assign metadata (name, tags, category, comment), set a deployment timestamp, or configure expiration.

update_template

Update Template

Update metadata for an existing Carbone template. You can modify the name, comment, tags, category, deployment timestamp, or expiration timestamp without re-uploading the template file.

check_status

Check Status

Check if the Carbone API service is running and accessible. This endpoint does not require authentication.

download_template

Download Template

Download a stored Carbone template using its template ID or version ID. Use list_templates to discover template and version IDs.

list_templates

List Templates

Retrieve a list of templates stored in Carbone. Supports filtering by template ID, version ID, category, origin, and free-text search. Use cursor-based pagination for large result sets.

delete_template

Delete Template

Permanently delete a template from Carbone storage. Accepts either a template ID (deletes all versions) or a specific version ID.

list_categories_and_tags

List Categories and Tags

Retrieve all categories and tags currently used by your Carbone templates. Useful for discovering available template groupings and labels before filtering or uploading templates.

download_document

Download Document

Download a generated Carbone report using the render ID from render_document or a completion webhook.

One governed layer for every app your agents reach, not a separate connector per tool.

  • Give Carbone and every other app to your whole team through one MCP gateway, behind your SSO.
  • Scope which teams and agents can use Carbone tools with role-based access control, and trace every call.
  • Prefer to run it yourself? Metorial is open source and self-hostable.
