What you can do with the Google Forms MCP server

Ask your agent in plain language. Each of these maps to a real tool on the server.

  • Use the get form tool in Google Forms
  • Use the list responses tool in Google Forms
  • Use the manage watches tool in Google Forms
  • Use the create form tool in Google Forms
  • Use the update form tool in Google Forms
  • Use the get response tool in Google Forms

How teams use Google Forms with agents

Forms collects structured input from people outside your systems: surveys, intake requests and quizzes. An agent can build the form, read responses as they arrive and summarise them.

Build a survey

Create a form from a list of questions, including quiz answer keys and point values.

Summarise responses

Read responses since a date and summarise themes for the person who owns the survey.

Route intake

Watch a request form and hand each new response to the right team.

Publish settings

Open or close a form for responses on a schedule.

Tools to start with

  • List Responses: Filter responses by submission time.
  • Manage Watches: Get notified when new responses arrive.
  • Set Publish Settings: Open or close a form.

Sign-in and permissions

Forms connects with Google OAuth. Google separates the scope that edits forms from the scope that reads responses, so the consent screen shows both, and the agent can only reach forms the person owns or can edit.

Sign-in options on Metorial: Google OAuth.

Supported Tools

get_form

Get Form

Retrieves the full content and metadata of a Google Form by its ID. Returns the form's title, description, settings, all items (questions, sections, images, videos), and quiz configuration. Useful for inspecting a form's structure, verifying changes, or reading question details.

list_responses

List Responses

Lists all responses for a Google Form, with optional filtering by submission timestamp. Returns each response with its answers, timestamps, respondent email, and quiz grades. Supports pagination and timestamp filtering to retrieve only recent submissions.

manage_watches

Manage Watches

Creates, lists, renews, or deletes push notification watches on a Google Form. Watches deliver notifications to a Google Cloud Pub/Sub topic when form events occur. Supports two event types: **SCHEMA** (form structure/settings changes) and **RESPONSES** (new or updated response submissions).

create_form

Create Form

Creates a new Google Form with a title and optional document title. The created form is initially empty — use the **Update Form** tool to add questions, settings, and other content after creation. Returns the new form's ID, responder URL, and metadata.

update_form

Update Form

Updates an existing Google Form using batch update requests. Supports updating form info (title, description), settings (quiz mode), and managing items (adding, updating, moving, or deleting questions, sections, images, and videos). Accepts an array of update requests that are applied atomically. Each request can be one of: **updateFormInfo**, **updateSettings**, **createItem**, **updateItem**, **moveItem**, or **deleteItem**.

get_response

Get Response

Retrieves a single form response by its response ID. Returns the full response including answers, timestamps, respondent email (if collected), and quiz grades. Useful for inspecting a specific submission in detail.

set_publish_settings

Set Publish Settings

Publishes or unpublishes a Google Form and controls whether a published form accepts new responses.

Connect Google Forms to your AI client

Every client uses the same Magic MCP URL, and so does any other MCP client. Add it once and sign in with SSO.

  1. Enable Google Forms in Metorial. In your Metorial portal, enable the Google Forms MCP server and sign in with the account that owns the data. Access stays governed by your team policies.
  2. Add a custom connector. Open Customize, then Connectors. Select Add, then Custom, then Web.
  3. Paste your Metorial MCP URL. Name it Metorial, paste your Magic MCP URL (<your-magic-mcp-url>) and continue.
  4. Sign in. Select Add and sign in to load Google Forms tools.

Run Google Forms through the Metorial gateway

One governed layer for every app your agents reach, not a separate connector per tool.

  • Give Google Forms and every other app to your whole team through one MCP gateway, behind your SSO.
  • Scope which teams and agents can use Google Forms tools with role-based access control, and trace every call.
  • Prefer to run it yourself? Metorial is open source and self-hostable.
