Supported Tools

list_destinations

List Log Destinations

List all log destinations configured in Papertrail. Log destinations define where systems should send their logs. Destinations can accept logs via syslog (TCP/UDP/TLS) or HTTPS.

create_group

Create Group

Create a new group of systems. Groups can include specific systems by ID and/or use a wildcard pattern to automatically include matching systems by name (e.g., `*prod*`).

list_archives

List Archives

List all available log archive files. Archives are hourly gzipped TSV files containing permanent log records. Returns download URLs for each archive.

delete_group

Delete Group

Delete a group from Papertrail. The systems within the group are not deleted, only the grouping is removed.

list_systems

List Systems

List all systems (log senders) registered in Papertrail. Returns each system's name, hostname, IP address, last event timestamp, and syslog connection details. Useful for identifying active senders and those that have stopped logging.

update_system

Update System

Update an existing system's name, hostname, or IP address. Note that the log destination cannot be changed after creation.

list_groups

List Groups

List all groups in Papertrail. Groups are sets of systems (log senders) that can be searched together. Each group includes its member systems and optional wildcard pattern for automatic system matching.

Remove User

Remove a team member from the Papertrail account. This revokes their access immediately.

delete_saved_search
