  • Use the create update tool in Buffer
  • Use the manage queue tool in Buffer
  • Use the get link shares tool in Buffer

Supported Tools

share_update

Share Update Now

Request immediate publication of a pending update that is currently in the queue. This affects the connected social account and retains published history. Acceptance does not confirm delivery; read the post status afterward.

get_profiles

Get Profiles

Retrieve connected social media profiles (channels). Read one profile by ID, profiles in a current API organization, or profiles across accessible organizations. Counts are returned only when supplied by the provider.

get_organizations

Get Organizations

Discover organizations accessible to the current Buffer connection, including IDs needed for channels, post lists and configuration. Stored legacy REST credentials require a new current connection for organization discovery.

create_update

Create Update

Create a post for one or more profiles. By default it enters the publishing queue; saveToDraft creates an unpublished draft on the current API. now publishes immediately. Multi-profile creation is not atomic.

manage_queue

Manage Queue

Move an existing queued update to the top. The current API exposes this as an experimental operation. Full reorder and shuffle remain legacy REST operations with unverified current availability.

get_configuration

Get Service Configuration

Read the current experimental service capability catalog for an organization, grouped by service and channel type. Includes supported content types and properties. Legacy connections retain the older configuration response when available.

get_interactions

Get Interactions

Read individual interaction records through the retained legacy REST contract. This is not available through the current API; legacy availability and event support depend on the provider. Current aggregate metrics can be requested through Get Updates with a personal API key.

edit_update

Edit Update

Edit an existing unpublished update or draft. Omitted content, assets and scheduling are preserved. now publishes immediately. Current API assets: [] clears files; saveToDraft keeps the post unpublished.

get_user

Get User

Retrieve the authenticated Buffer user's account details with the actual account identifier, email, and available profile details. Plan and nullable fields are omitted when the provider does not return them.

manage_schedule

Manage Posting Schedule

Read the posting schedule for a profile. Schedule changes use the retained legacy REST operation; the current API exposes schedule reading only. Changes may affect automatic publishing.

get_updates

Get Updates

Read one update by ID or list posts for a profile or organization. Current connections support drafts and cursor pagination. Provider totals are returned only when supplied. Request metrics explicitly with a personal API key.

delete_update

Delete Update

Delete an existing unpublished update from Buffer. This does not delete a post already published on a social network.

Every client uses the same Magic MCP URL, and so does any other MCP client. Add it once and sign in with SSO.

  2. Add a custom connector. Open Customize, then Connectors. Select Add, then Custom, then Web.
  3. Paste your Metorial MCP URL. Name it Metorial, paste your Magic MCP URL (<your-magic-mcp-url>) and continue.
  4. Sign in. Select Add and sign in to load Buffer tools.

Run Buffer through the Metorial gateway

One governed layer for every app your agents reach, not a separate connector per tool.

  • Give Buffer and every other app to your whole team through one MCP gateway, behind your SSO.
  • Scope which teams and agents can use Buffer tools with role-based access control, and trace every call.
  • Prefer to run it yourself? Metorial is open source and self-hostable.
