Hootsuite MCP server

Connect Hootsuite to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, GitHub Copilot and any other MCP client, for your whole team. Metorial adds security, governance, and tracing, and gives everyone one Magic MCP URL to connect.

What you can do with the Hootsuite MCP server

Ask your agent in plain language. Each of these maps to a real tool on the server.

  • Use the upload media tool in Hootsuite
  • Use the manage message tool in Hootsuite
  • Use the manage teams tool in Hootsuite
  • Use the schedule message tool in Hootsuite
  • Use the get user info tool in Hootsuite
  • Use the list social profiles tool in Hootsuite

Supported Tools

upload_media

Upload Media

Create a pre-signed upload URL for media files or check the status of a previously initiated upload. Use **create** to get an upload URL for a file, then upload the file directly to the returned S3 URL. Use **status** to check processing, or set download to retrieve a downloadable copy of READY media.

manage_message

Manage Message

Approve, reject, or delete a scheduled message. Use **approve** or **reject** for messages in PENDING_APPROVAL state (requires the sequenceNumber from the message). Use **delete** to remove a scheduled message entirely.

manage_teams

Manage Teams

List, create, and manage teams within a Hootsuite organization. Use **list** to see all teams in an organization. Use **get** to fetch a team's details. Use **create** to create a new team. Use **add_member** or **remove_member** to manage team membership. Use **list_members** to see members in a team. Use **list_social_profiles** to see social profiles assigned to a team. Provide organizationId for these operations, or allow discovery among your authorized organizations. The legacy **remove_member** route is retained, but its availability is not documented by the current public API; do not assume it can undo an addition.

schedule_message

Schedule Message

Schedule a social media post to one or more social profiles at a specific date and time. Supports text content, media attachments, location tagging, tags, and email notifications. The scheduled time must be in **UTC ISO-8601 format** (e.g. `2025-03-01T14:00:00Z`).

get_user_info

Get User Info

Retrieve the authenticated user's profile information and their associated organizations.

list_social_profiles

List Social Profiles

Retrieve social profiles accessible to the authenticated user, or fetch details for a specific social profile. Social profiles represent connected social accounts. Use the returned cursor to retrieve another page.

list_messages

List Messages

Retrieve scheduled, sent, or pending-approval messages within a time range. Can filter by social profile IDs and message state. Also supports fetching a single message by ID.

manage_organization_members

Manage Organization Members

List, retrieve, invite, or remove members in a Hootsuite organization. Use **list** to see all members. Use **get** to fetch a specific member's details and permissions. Use **invite** to create or invite a member by email; this can consume a seat and send an invitation. Use **remove** to remove organization membership; it does not delete the member's Hootsuite account.

Connect Hootsuite to your AI client

Every client uses the same Magic MCP URL, and so does any other MCP client. Add it once and sign in with SSO.

  1. Enable Hootsuite in Metorial. In your Metorial portal, enable the Hootsuite MCP server and sign in with the account that owns the data. Access stays governed by your team policies.
  2. Add a custom connector. Open Customize, then Connectors. Select Add, then Custom, then Web.
  3. Paste your Metorial MCP URL. Name it Metorial, paste your Magic MCP URL (<your-magic-mcp-url>) and continue.
  4. Sign in. Select Add and sign in to load Hootsuite tools.

Run Hootsuite through the Metorial gateway

One governed layer for every app your agents reach, not a separate connector per tool.

  • Give Hootsuite and every other app to your whole team through one MCP gateway, behind your SSO.
  • Scope which teams and agents can use Hootsuite tools with role-based access control, and trace every call.
  • Prefer to run it yourself? Metorial is open source and self-hostable.
